s located in Via Camerelle, the chicest street in Capri, and one of the most elegant in the world. The business was founded in 1964 by Oreste Staiano, who for several decades had been dealing in ceramics, hand-crafted by the best Italian artisans. During these times, he also managed other businesses with his brothers, establishing a long tradition of commerce in the Staiano family, whose roots on Capri date back to the beginning of last century. In the early nineties, Oreste handed the business to his children, Alba and Silvio, who decided to “revolutionize” the trade by introducing the “Glass Collection….Glass is love”. Beautiful hand-blown items authentically hand-crafted by various experts from Murano - Venice. Later on, the introduction of a line of watches, the “Capri Watch Collection”, with a new exclusive trademark , represented an important turning point for the company, encouraging the creation of many new models produced for Asperula Stellina with the exclusive design by Silvio Staiano . Since 1995, the popularity and ever increasing demand for the vibrant colors of the the dozens of watch models has enabled the new management to play a significant role in the commercial marketplace of Capri.
From the year 2002 a line of handbags was introduced with a new brand Capri à Porter, allowing the company to enter the wide word of Fashion Accessories. Since then the Company has grown in this market conquering a fast worldwide success with the Capri Jelly Bags.
Ciao Capri Store
was opened in 2003 as second sales point on the island selling watches, perfumes, and bijoux.
Capri à Porter Store
was opened in 2004 in via Le Botteghe, a small street located in the island hystoric shopping area. This store is specialized in handbags and other fashion accessories in leather and canvas. The distintive caracteristics of this collection, besides the great quality and attention to details, are the unique prints: from the first one Capri Memories to Capri Graffiti, Capri Collage and the most famous Capri Gouache...all exclusive design by Silvio Staiano.
